Rx for Science Literacy: Exploring Bioethics

This workshop is based on a curriculum that gives students an opportunity to grapple with some of the most challenging and engaging ethical issues our society is facing as a result of advances in the life sciences.
The Rx for Science Literacy workshop series provides K-12 educators a unique opportunity to tour research facilities, hear from scientists about their latest research advances and take a home a free curriculum and other bioscience education materials.
Incentives for attending an Rx for Science Literacy workshop include:
- 1 unit of certification renewal credit for North Carolina-certified educators (4 hours of additional work required)
- Free supplemental curriculum and other bioscience education materials to use in the classroom
- Free lunch
- Substitute teacher support (up to $70)
